Driving from Newcastle to Carlisle we were suppose to pick up the old Roman wall road but instead ended up heading towards Kielder Forest, it was a beautiful drive down narrow roads, lots of big green hills and little rivers. Kielder Lake is beautiful, like a big manmade loch that just appears suddenly, we could imagine that in Winter the whole area would be left alone to sleep the winter away.
