Dylan Thomas was an inveterate gossip and liked Laugharne because it was full of "colossal
Dylan's wife drank more than he reputedly did.
Laugharne's butcher's shop had more flies than sausages.
Laugharne - no Welsh spoken, had an English Congregational Chapel and an English castle to keep the Welsh out.

The light on the Taf estuary is amazing, hence the attraction for authors and painters.

... a notch or two and the last few days have been a major C2C test.....3 consecutive days of walking, covering a total of 30 miles. It's all very well walking 10-14 miles in a day, but it's doing that sort of mileage day after day, is what it will all be about. ... br> The route, famously designed by Alfred Wainwright as recently as 1973, passes through some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK including 3 National Parks, namely the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorks Moors. But, at an average of around 14 miles a day, every day, for two weeks, over some fairly challenging terrain, this won't be any 'Walk in the Park', so to speak. Especially for a man of my advanced years!!
