    ... It is well known for its sand sculpture festival, running from May to October each year. The theme for the sculptures this year was Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales. As well as the impressive sand sculptures, there were timber and metal sculptures. Inside, they had a rock'n'roll museum, heavily focussed on Elvis. They had many items on display.     ... to Ålborg and decided to try the harbour nearest the town, there are four to choose from. The one we selected was called Vestre Bådehavn , one of the original harbours and as such, festooned with posts to negotiate, most of which would doubtless be situated too close together to be any use to us.     ... still blowing energetically from the east. Over to the south however, the clouds looked thick and indeed, it was these that we had the 'benefit’ of later. The reason for this is that within a very short period, the wind died completely and then the clouds were seen to be very obviously advancing and by 09:00 it was spitting with rain, rain that never really materialised very much over the morning but it looked like it would return, sometime.
