... realised in the morning was actually a rubbish dump. Despite the surroundings and the Gypsy who was screaming at his horse to go through a puddle for half an hour we cooked a wonderful dinner. It was nice to camp in a small group, I slept better.
The next morning we left our cozy dump in search of coffee, found it, boiled up water and ate some delicious bread and cheese. It was lunchtime before I bid my southerly farewell and wished my friends a safe westerly course.
... adequate meal was set out for us inside their property which was an old and well developed small plot with lots of vegetables, chooks, a rabbit, corn and onions drying on the walls, grapes hanging in ripening clusters, lots of colourful flowers and an all pervasive smell of rural living.
I was amazed to see lamingtons cut into wedges were part of the fare.
Local wine was provided and we were entertained by the musicians as well as an old ...
I met Albena last Christmas, she is married to Rick Harper a Washington National Guard Soldier and contractor at Fort Lewis. They had had moved from Virgina, and Albena was not yet working and had not met many people.
She grew up in the beautiful coastal city of Varna Bulgaria, and all her family was still ...
A very nice place and quiet resort, is ideal target for family with kids, food and drinks very cheap and the people are friendly. About the security reasons I saw all the time the officers from Security companies -armed- and Police patrols on the street, here you need just to choose the proper location and enjoy the time.
Oh Varna.
Life passes in a haze of beachy days and beach bar-y nights, and really there is not much else. After a week on the farm in Palamatsa, it's so nice to be here on the beach, relaxing with the hundreds of Brits, Aussies, Bulgarians, and even some Americans that find their way to Varna 'for a few days.' This is funny because so many people we met said, 'we came for 3 days and have been here for 3 months.' Woah guys, it's nice, but there are other nice places too ...
... strong of a word, the door was opened by someone. Into the common room we finally found ourselves, "Hi". No answer from the locals. Well great this seems like a really great place. In writing you may not be able to tell that this was sarcasm. Both toilet/showers were busy so even though we both needed to go to the bathroom we had to wait to use the filthy things. Finally Dave the owner showed up ...
Varna, Varna, Bulgaria dinoshona... years ago) and we would have to go around. We found our way to the other side of the landslide and then asked for more directions ... we were on the right track ... just up that way. Our third enquiry had us just up the hill, turn right, then left, then right where we finally found it but the sign was written in Cyrillic lettering. We checked in to the old but comfortable multi storey hotel, complete with pool and ...
Golden Sands, Varna, Bulgaria souter... the 3 of us headed to 2 hours south on the train to Brasov. This is an old walled town with verdant green mountains on either side of the town, as soon as we had checked into the hostel we headed for the beer festival in Parcul Central and had some great BBQd sausages washed down with 20p a pint beers - who said travelling was hard?? The rest of our 3 days in Brasov was spent looking around the town at the many beautiful buildings, taking a ...
Varna, Bulgaria worldofbintang... and in the middle of no where you'll see them, waiting... its very sad... Anyway, our guidebook and map had copyright dates of 2003 and 2005 respectively. Each showed roughly 50 campsites spotted down the 200 mile coastline. How many were left? Answer: 3. The rest are now sold to investors that are putting up their neon lit casinos and hotels as fast as possible. There must be more cranes per capita in ...
