Day 1: Filled with excitement, fear and a boots meal deal we stood in the queue at Moscow airport border control. The people behind the desk had expressions of stone, if they had asked me anything in Russian I could have only said 'hello' in reply, Ben - a mere thumbs up. Our plans were to head off towards St Petersburg after the Kremlin tour but as we got ready to go, the pain in my lower abdomen that I had experienced for a couple of hours the previous evening returned. ... simplicity where the craftsmanship and the material used shines through. I will have to try and find a photo online of a flower in a vase that was amazing. Following the tour I met up with Bata again and as it was raining we headed to the large underground shopping centre built beneath a beautiful garden beside the kremlin walls. Although the signage in the food court was written in the Cyrillic alphabet I could easily read Burger King, ...

... quickly transferred to only one gate to our right, avoiding the security procedure my FinnAir friend had warned me might be necessary, and settled into our seats on a plane to Moscow on which our group made up at least half the passengers!

The first couple of days in Moscow have been delightful. Yesterday was unseasonably cold - in the mid 50s. Today was about 25 degrees warmer with brilliant sunshine. It was a perfect day ...
