      ... museum by the station in the former house of the station master who cared for him when he fell ill. After two days, we then headed back to Moscow. Our time in the villages has been a really great experience (for me more than Anya) and has helped me piece together the complex jigsaw of society in this vast country.       I grabbed dinner at Subway, which was outrageously expensive, so I got a taste for how much money I’m going to spend here in the next week.       ... artefacts. Particularly wonderful were the jewelled bibles, vestments and alter pieces. There were a few Faberge eggs on view but the most famous pieces are in Vienna so we may just have to google them. These, coupled with stunning architecture made the visit easy to recommend. You never tire of onion domes. The metro! How difficult could it be to get from one place to another? Well the stations and maps are written in Russian... A different alphabet.       ... also designed the park for the different parks/battlefields from WWII. There is a massive trench system, a railroad yard, a beach head, and a forest with fake snow! So cool! I found it rather interesting that this outdoor armory is a hot spot for wedding receptions in Russia.
