First stop for the day was near the only portion of the original ancient wall that surrounded Suzhou. A short walk to where we boarded boat for our cruise along the large canal and then through the smaller canals for which Suzhou was known as the "Venice of the east".

We went back to Casa Zoe's for breakfast after moving from the Kempinski Hotel back to the Gran Park Hotel for work tomorrow. We then went to visit the Nanshan Temple, and walked around a market area, a bit like Confucius Temple area in Nanjing with small shops and stalls.

We then took a lovely boat trip down the Grand Canal (which we have been on in Hangzhou also), stopping off at a hand-made brick museum. Another lovely day.

Today was a glorious day, clear blue sky and quite warm. After having a lovely brunch at Casa Zoe's, a lovely tex mex restaurant in ...

We caught the bullet train home but as there were no sitting seats left we were forced to stand for 35 minutes which wasn’t too bad. We all ended up squatting in the aisle much to the amusement of the Chinese people on the train. I even got to watch 10 minutes of the new terminator while (rudely I know) peering over a man’s shoulder and watching it “with” him ...
