... we found four standing tickets for a train later that day, and finally headed off on our adventure.
The train was so busy, and the food trolley came round every 10 minutes, causing us to be even more squished up! ... so. In order to get the visa, I would have to send my passport or travel in person to Beijing where I would have to stay for 10 days. I would have needed to say exactly what day and time I would be arriving and entering the country. As a result, I had to bid "proshchaniye" to that Idea. The blows kept on coming.

We visited the orphanage again today and said goodbye to the children. It was the weekend so many of the administrative staff were not there at the orphanage. ... really enjoyed looking through her file as it contained every letter and all of the more recent photos that we have been sending to the orphanage ever year on the anniversary of Amity's adoption day. We spoke with the director for quite a while and asked lots of questions. We learned that there were approx. 270 kids back in the orphanage when Amity was there.
