... the complimentary breakfast, as provided by the resort owners, and it was mighty fine. We each had blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages/bacon and coffee. A perfect start to the day. ... fun, especially the first 5-6 miles. The second half is calmer and a bit wider, and in the afternoons the westerly winds kick in to try and push paddlers back. But the day I paddled the 12 miles (6/28), it was very warm and sunny, and nothing could have made that a bad day on the river--even wind. ... town and the drivers there are very friendly…meaning they didn't seem to get in a snit just because an RV was taking up some of their road space, and seemed to be happy to wave us on in front of them when we needed to change lanes! Our major stop there involved a bagel (multi-grain and therefore healthy) and (sorry Rita) a custard filled Maple Sugar covered éclair. Life is short (maybe shorter after eating the éclair!) you know!
