Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan odekake... went to the US to study.

During the war, Isamu was set to a concentration camp.
After the war, he submitted his design for the Hiroshima Dome Museum, but his work was denied because he was "American".
One side he was accused to be Japanese, and the other side he was denied because he was American. Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan beachmonkie... many stories about the summit such as meeting other groups of indigenous peoples, struggle for coordinating the event, joy of the success, etc. I felt their passion, and I felt great starting to know about such great people. The next indigenous summit will be in Canada next summer. Hopefully I can participate in the event next year. Snow sculptures the size of houses, detailed ice carvings, mazes big enough for people to walk through, ice carving stations, ice cream making booths, the list just goes on and on.... Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan tomfonder... thus is one of the easiest cities to navigate in Japan! Sapporo became world famous in 1972 when the Olympic Winter Games were held there. Today, the city is well known for its ramen, beer, and the annual snow festival! Day #1: We walked around Odori Park (large park that separates the North and South of the city) where the huge snow sculptures were, and some of the ice sculptures. There were also singers and musicians performing. There was even a huge snowboarding ...
Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan kateinjapan... to our hotel, looking for an ATM that will take US credit cards, and internet along the way. We are both exhausted from not sleeping well on the train and our early arrival. We should just head back and nap for a bit, but keep trying to see if maybe something (ATM, internet) is right around the corner. Doing this we waste another 45 minutes and find nothing. We manage a short nap, get a shower and head downstairs to meet Kawamori. Our host arrives in a taxi ...
