Goa, Goa, India emeric.bensaci... the quietness of Arambol, but we heard that Baga had more nightlife, and we wanted to go out with a bang! We checked into Francesco's Guesthouse which had a nice room for us and even had a HOT WATER SHOWER! It was only a 2 minute walk to the beach and was in the shopping/bar area, so we were sold on it. No big surprise here... but we spent all day Monday AND Tuesday laying at the beach and jumping in the warm ocean every 15 minutes to ...
Goa, India 3vagabonds... it had to be held outside. As one of Tanvi's closest girlfriends, I was blessed enough to be identified as such (as there are no 'bridesmaids' in Indian weddings) and so sat for a spell on the dais where the ceremony was held; it was important to Tanvi that her girlfriends were recognised as such. The rest of the wedding events have been far from traditional, so I'm told, as the bride and groom are not traditional, so in this respect ...
Baroda, India cleavers... I knew I would have to lift the curse. Karen arrives......I had to make four separate bus journeys to get to the airport . On the way I stopped in panjim where there is a nice park near the bus station and its very green in every sense of the word! Here I found some shade and ate my samosas from the newspaper they came wrapped in.At the next stop I met a very enthusiastic indian boy who had mistaken me for a cricket player and was very pleased to see me ...
goa, India gyppojim... settled at one called "Coctails and Dreams"...great crowd there and this bar would become our home away from home for the next three nights. Actually the agenda for the next three nights was fairly straightforward. Wake up, have breakfast, work our way to the beach, find a beach shack, swim/drink/eat for several hours, watch the sunset, get cleaned up, enjoy the hammocks at Lemmon Tree while we waited for the girls to get ready ...
Goa, India bwulz... could organise their way out of a paper bag! We were going to have the meal at Ciarans where everyone stayed but they made such a drama over it and were so unhelpful that we went to the other place 2 days before the wedding and they were really lovely and helpful, so not only was it perfect, they did it with 2 days notice. After the wedding we just spent our time lazing around on the beach, I couldn't tear myself away to email which why you're ...
Palolem, Goa, India squeak_1912... out of place in business casual attire marched up and down the beach ogling the topless girls, meanwhile the Indian women were wore full length saris even when in the water. Not to forget the hippies...they guys sported dreadlocks, multiple body piercing and plenty of tats, while the girls wore "Pocahontas" shirts (hard to describe the shirts but they looked Native American) and skirts. I usually spotted them playing ...
Arambol (Goa), India bcc8... a mention, on the outside, just another waiter at our local restaurant. A couple of meals later and he's warming too us. Quite the conversationalist his delivery was intense, he had a knack of holding eye contact when talking to you, increase the gap between the words a little and you had better be reading between the lines, information was being passed here, more the fool you if you choose to ignore it. Critical stuff, Fix the gaze...... "The-chicken-Biryani-is ...
Palolem Beach, India hotfield... there was not even a safety net or anything. The people on the rides were mostly kids but there were a few adults on also - and they were trying to get us to go on - they saw how intrigued we were - we were not very adventurous so opted out of the ride. We had some traditional Pav Bhaji on the beach and ate some yummy Kulfi (I LOVE kulfi!) We then walked off our entire meal by walking along Marine Drive - a street kinda like downtown Manhattan - trendy shops, restaurants and Cafes ...
