      ... atmosphere of almost continuous singing and cheering, as the crowd showed its appreciation for the Italian visitors. I even experienced a perfect reflection of Indonesian Islam, with the sight of a couple of fans in front of me, complete with backwards Arabic numerals on their shirts and a headscarf in the black and white colours of Juventus. I am not so sure that I would recommend Jakarta to other travellers but at least my adventure there ended on a high.

      ... when you take the bus it is actually gender segregated. Women sit in the front and men pile in like sardines in the back. At first I was a little irritated, I mean, really??? But after a day walking around town in a modest tank top, I learned why. I was happy to be rid of all the crazy creeps, if even it was only on the bus.

      I don't know what they say to me, but the sound the men make is horrible. They yell and make sounds like monkeys or dogs, ...

      ... Jakarta really surprised us. We were expecting the worst, but the weather was good, the people were so very friendly, taxi drivers knew where they were going, no one tried to rip us off, everyone spoke good English and the city is a lot more developed than we had ever imagined. Generally everyone is extremely helpful and well behaved in Jakarta, which could be due to their strong religious views. Considering we generally don't like cities, we'd recommend Jakarta to ...
