      Great Spot, Scary Practices

      from

It is true that this hotel is great for its location and options. But be weary of recent hotel staff. I had requested a room several months back for its view and location. After several comfirmations of its reservation, I arrived to find that they had given it away and put me in a bad location. They did finally come through with a decent accomodation. But only after going to the top and after having the blame be put all on my shoulders, before they discovered they had given it away. I also witnessed several individuals having trouble with the staff charging them for extra stays in their hotel. It hurt our vacation time because we had to spend time fighting for our original room.

      Right on the beach!

      from

We stayed at the Surftides this spring and we found it very nice. We stayed on the first floor, so the beach was right outside our patio door.

      We would stay here again.

      Romantic

      from

My wife and I have been going to the Surftides for over 20 years. We love it! Close to the Casino, right on the beach and the best restaurant in town right next door! Pick bottom to be on the beach or upper floors views are excellent looking out into the ocean. Swimming pool and spa, lots for a family or just a couple for a romantic weekend.

This hotel has been the greatest out of all I've stayed in! The view was magnificent, the pool and hot tub was great and the food was delicious. The staff was very helpful and generous. I definately recommend this experience to everyone. You won't regret it!

      from

Surftides Beach Resort!! What can I say not much ,Surftides speaks for itself. We have been going to Surftides Beach Resort for many years and each visit is even better than the last. Service is "Great", staff very friendly and polite. So if you want a memorable stay at the "Coast" Give Surftides Beach Resort a call.

we have been staying here for years, our family too,the 1st floor is the way to go,it's like you're right in the ocean.GREAT BEACH ACCESS.AWESOME FOOD AT KEY WEST RESTAURANT!

      Awesome family weekend getaway

      from

Perfect for a family getaway with easy and low beach access! The view is awesome!!. So relaxing.

      The perfect honeymoon getaway!

      from

We stayed in one of the in-room jacuzzi suites on our honeymoon in 1994 and returned to the same room in summer of 2002. We loved it both times and the only changes that were made were made for the better. The staff is warm and friendly and the room was as wonderful as we remembered it to be. The facilities are kept very clean and the room service was excellent. We plan to return once a year from now on!

      Great and relaxing

      from

My family have stayed at this hotel for years. But their recent renovation makes the place even better. The location and the beach access is unbeatable on the coast. For my elderly parents or my little kids, the access is safe and short from the room. The hotel is also situated on a large piece of property so you don't feel cramped in with a bunch of parking lots or other hotels. Some of the units have kitchenettes so you can cook your own breakfast and lunch and go to the on-site restaurant for dinner. It's close to the main grocery store for added convenience. We recommend it highly!

... morning. Dad says he and I will go to Starbucks while mom does her exercise thing. Mom and dad had lunch at a place called Local Oceans Seafood. Mom was happy to enjoy some oyster shooters. All the seafood is local and most of the seafood they buy off the local fishing boats. A stroll along the pier afterwards to see the Sea Lions was fun.....but are they noisy! More Newport tomorrow and then some hiking along with seeing Yaquina bay ...

      Lincoln on the Oregon Coast

Last time I wrote we were in Oklahoma City and moving on West. Out of Oklahoma into the panhandle of Texas, drove through the stunning Grand Canyon-like Palo Duro Canyon, endured several hundred miles of barren, sandy scrub and stayed in Roswell, New Mexico, one of the favorite landing places for Aliens. We spent most of our time for several days on Interstate 40 which follows the exact route of the famous Route 66 - the first highway to connect Chicago ...

      Whales, Lighthouses, and Shopping

We decided to travel south from Lincoln City down the coast of Oregon. Along the way, we stopped to search for whales and also saw some harbor seals sunning and playing. We climbed the tallest lighthouse on the Oregon coast, saw the shortest lighthouse on the coast, and also visited the only ...

... I would just give you gals a heads up so you won’t have to buy a Father’s Day gift this year. You can thank me later.

With a temperature of 68 degrees under a partly cloudy sky, we pulled out of camp at 9:15 this morning. Our drive was northward in the Willamette Valley up I-5 towards Salem, Oregon, where we could see the mountains on each side of the valley. (On an instructional note, Willamette is pronounced will-lamb-it. We were ...

Card Nasty If You Struggled With The Rules

We traveled southward on the wondrous Oregon coast to just south of Lincoln City and as always the weather from the valley determined the weather on the coast, so as the valley was experiencing temps in the high 90's, the coast never got above 60 and was shrouded in fog for a week running. So we had occasional glimpses of the ocean, but for me just knowing that it is right outside the windows is good ...
