    Poor Customer Service

My wife and 3 kids stayed from June 19th to June 26th 2004. The location is great (middle of town)

The parking is TERRIBLE! narrow and not enough room if you drive an SUV, PICKUP, VAN. The breakfast in the motel restaurant was OK. The waitresses were outstanding (customer service).

My kids loved the pool (heated), If you are planning to stay in this motel for the fishing, don't do it. Water is too shallow I recommend fishing the bulk side where the steam boats dock (great fishing). The people who clean the rooms forgot to clean our room one night (we were not happy). My worst comment towards this place was the TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE DISPLAYED BY THE BUILDINGS MANAGER!!!!. My 5 year old son had to use the bathroom because my 8 year old was already using the only bathroom inside our room. We asked (politely) the manager if it was possible for him to open another empty room, so our son can use the bathroom, and he stated "Sorry he would have to go to town and use a public bathroom"!. Guess what, I don't know about you, but because of this IDIOT of a manager, they WILL NOT get my business again. Another thing, last year we stayed in a motel North of Lake George Village (Mohican), This was 100 times better than the Surf side. My opinion is now complete.

    Great place to stay !

My wife and I make it a point to stay here each year for the Adirondack Nationals Car Show. Always good service, clean cabin, and just a great spot to take in the wonderful Lake George area.

    Great Place to Stay

September 11 thru September 13th. We have stay at the Surfside for the past three of four years. Rooms are clean, service is great, they have a great breakfast buffet. I can not think of one bad thing to say about this place. It is a great place to stay.

    What a surprise!

We were so pleasantly surprised. We had no idea what to expect of the Surfside or of Lake George. It is a great family place. Very clean, nice pool, playground and beach. It's in the heart of everything which made it so convenient. Our room had a small refrig so that was great, especially traveling with 2 small children. There are lots of well maintained small hotels on Lake George so take a chance on a non-national hotel. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised.

    Poor service,dirty room

upon arriving, we had no place to park our car. beach was tiny and litter strewn. mold on the shower curtain. very small room for the price we paid, found better hotels for less money while we were in lake george. attendant at front desk was not helpful at all to say the least. FIND SOMEPLACE ELSE TO STAY!

    In the heart of everything

Stayed here for two nights and it was very conveniently located in the north end of the village, very convenient to shopping and all the village activities. Reasonably priced, the rooms were clean and service was very good. My only complaint is about the bed sheets. They should get some new sheets for the beds as the ones we had were not fitted and came off all the time. Annoying, but this was really the only flaw.

Otherwise a good choice because of its convenient location. My son loved that he was able to walk into the village and we didn't need the car. I recommend it.

    Wonderful! Great Value for Families!

We discovered this motel on the lake last year after a bad experience at a neighboring motel. The Surfside offers nice accommodations at a reasonable price (for Lake George) and a wonderful location for watching parasailing on the lake or visiting the many shops and restaurants. Our "lakeside" room was one of the more expensive offered by the motel, but the view of the lake and mountains from the balcony was breathtaking and well-worth it. We returned this year with our children and rented a "family suite" with a small kitchen, two bedrooms and a nice view of the lake and pool. Though a little further back from the lake and in need of a little touching up in the hallways (somewhat dated paint and carpet), it was wonderful. Compared to other family motels in Lake George, we are convinced we've found the best. The Surfside offers a wide range of room prices too. Rooms without a lake view and closer to the road are cheaper but still a great deal because the pool and lake are only a minute's walk away. The beach is large and well-kept with a nice dock, picnic tables, slips for boats, etc. We're already planning next year's vacation here!

    Beautiful and Serene

What a beautiful area with lots to do for all. Ages of travelers were 3 yrs to 86 yrs and we all had a great time. Surfside Hotel was all we expected except hotel buffet breakfast left a lot to be desired. All in all a great vacation getaway.

This hotel is in the center of everything, it has a beautiful beach and pool area, a nice restaurant and very nice rooms and cabins. I highly recommend it!

    Near it ALL!

This Motel is near it all! It's clean with nice size rooms. Price is fantastic! Our third year back and we are never dissapointed! Gotta try the cabins, you will love the experience! Have a great trip!

We decided to have our engine parts shipped and we got a 10 day pass for the lock system: a whopping $37.50!! We moved down to Fort Edward at Lock #7 for a few nights. There is free power and water, as well as bathroom and showers. No internet though- we walked over a half hour to McDonald's in the new section of town to get internet. The town has some ...

There is not, however, a lot for tourists. They don't even want you to bring your trash..... we cannot find a single trash can in any parks nearby and they state "no boat trash". There are two pubs in the historic area but we didn't feel like being inside, so we will eat on the boat. With a police station right in front of us we are not expecting any strange happenings ...

As we were almost ready to push off, we were surrounded - on one side by a group of hombres on horses riding on the eastern shore of the river and above us were a busload of children ready to tube down the river.

We made haste to depart before the tube people - alternately known as ...

South of LaCrosse we encountered a detour which stymied our GPS. After a pause she came up with another route which was not looking good from the start. We plodded on with the road becoming slightly more narrow as we proceeded. After five and a half miles we encountered a very large ...

Next thing I know, we are bobbing down the Hudson. And guess what? I no longer have my sunglasses on my face!! As much as I wanted to blame Alex, I had struck first.
