... it is clever it does seem a pointless exercise to let ride the wave in for few seconds and then spend half an hour paddling out and waiting for another wave to come by,
In the afternoon of the second day the site manager came around to all those of us in the camp to alert us that there was a severe hailstorm heading our way, her father who lives about 50 km away had just rung with a warning. Everyone rushed around putting everything away and all ...

PS. Today we left our fellow travellers (Bryan and Alison) back in Queensland, seems like they need one more week of sunshine before they too head south.
We have all had a great time over the past 6 months and will catch up back in Victoria, soon.
... Ocean, a beautiful location. After lunch we walked to the beach and through the town. Unfortunately the gathering clouds began to release showers and we returned for a relaxed evening. Saturday 5th July It had rained heavily overnight and the morning was cloudy and breezy. Neil and I went for a bike ride along the coast and around Yamba, while the girls went into town shopping. In the afternoon we went to look at Neil and Sylvia's new house, a fabulous modern design ...
Yamba, New South Wales, Australia harryandnorah... me it is how Byron used to be. We have had perfect weather and just been hanging at the beach. We have had a timely email that Josh's dad lives across the river, woohoo, will go and hang with him for a while. Stayed in a luxury apartment last night so we could watch the rugby this morning, congrats to South Africa! proud to be born there =)
Yamba, Australia jillsy... pick one out of the hat. i got one of the nice ones (do you have any tattoos and if so can we see them?). i'll let you fill the answer in yourselves... anyways, after 7 or 8 hours, we arrived at "Surf Camp" just north of Coffs Harbour. we were running late so only had 45 mins of lesson in the end and weren't given any time the next morning to surf either, which was a bit disappointing to be honest. Surfing at sunset, however, isn't at all ...
Byron Bay, Australia jules27In the morning of Thursday the 19th of April I decided to get my hair cut, as it was becoming very difficult to manage and for the rest of the day I spent it on the beach, just swimming, sunbathing and talking to other back packers. I also started to realize something about Australia and that is, it is for people who like to swim, love the sun and do nothing and of course beer, with lots of adventures thrown in. The photo of the lizard was taken in ...
Byron Bay, Australia ger1... It was great fun. However I have to admitt that im missing the proper traveling. I thought that beaches and nights out dancng would be the highlight of my trip but im missing seeing and learning knew things. Shocker huh!? We did meet a cool group of Irish lads that we hug out with at the hostel as well. On our last day all 4 of us did a surf lesson, wich was wicked. I did have a little Laura ...

Ballina, Australia stu_vause... I felt like I was falling out and had to cling on for dear life when turned upside down. Needless to say this has turned me against roller coasters! Despite this I did my best and dragged myself onto the first one called the 'Cyclone'. This actually wasn't too bad and I managed to go upside down for the first time since that fateful day in the Midlands. Doug on the other hand was fairly shook up by the cyclone experience and we decided to change down a few gears and try the ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia eve-michael... for the next stop, Yamba. We drove through Grafton and hit a heat pocket of 41degrees. It was alomost unbearable. We couldn't put the air con on cause Betty kept overheating and having the windows down was like someone putting a hairdryer on you - especially for me as the engine is right beside my seat!!! Eventually, hot and sweaty we arrived in Yamba. Yamba was recommended to my by one of my kids Mum and thank God she did. It's stunning, easily ...
