... me to wade out to a gravel bar to get a better view! I was hesitant at first but it was well worth the traverse across the slippery rocks and cold water! We spent a lot of time watching, listening, and photographing Manabezho and Manido Falls.

... couple of hours westward across from Sanilac through vast acres of flat farmland with tiny little rundown farm hamlets, so were most surprised to drive into Bay City through huge and well kept Victorian houses, in what must have been a wealthy town. The town itself had some nice blocks of 19th C structures and wide streets.
The rest of the afternoon was driving northward on a rather boring freeway. We wanted to get near Mackinac Island for the night. ...

... Tree were lights strung out on the ceiling, and the mind train had a light on the front, so again, phew! The guide emphasized how hard, and how strong that the men had to be to work in that mine. Oh, and they often started to work not as men, but boys. As in, eight year old boys. Unbelievable! Just to work to create the tunnel, never mind retrieving and bringing out the iron ore!
