... town and experience the culture. We were offered taxis and tours about 2000 times and we were constantly being pestered to buy things from the locals. One man followed us around the whole town attempting to be our tour guide for a tip despite us trying to shake him off repeatedly which was kind of an awkward experience for everyone - especially when we didn't give him any money.
Our third port was Cozumel, Mexico which was an island south of the mainland (like Tasmania). ...

... times the locals arranged a brass band salute to my accomplishments outside the room door. They were very loud. Today was a more normal day. Easter Monday night there was a Dancehall Sound Clash Battle in town, Dancehall DJs from various countries play against each other. The only strange thing was that the audience was supporting with Vuvuzelas, those horribly loud trompets which became famous in the football world cup in South Africa, all combined it sounds like a huge vespiary.

Today, we were in Jamaica, Mon! We had arranged a tour with a private tour operator for today. A lot of times, I like to use the private operators because a) they are less expensive, b) they are less crowded/more personal, and c) they often go places where the ship's excursions do not.

For Jamaica, we chose to go river tubing on the White River, with a stop at Irie Blue hole. The ship docked at Falmouth, which is a "new" ...
