... the weather totally cleared up and the sun came out again. We arrived at Ocean Expo Park where the aquarium was located and we were instantly in awe-- the view from the park was stunning; blue skies, puffy white clouds, and the sparking ocean spanned out before us. It looked as if there wasn't even a storm just 10 minutes prior.

The aquarium was awesome, simply put.

Hello friends! I can't believe that it has almost been an entire month since I've arrived on island. Everything is slowly starting to normalize for me, I think. I don't really feel so much culture shock anymore. There is still a pretty profound language barrier, but we're doing just fine with what we do know and I'm taking great strides to learn Japanese because I will be here for THREE YEARS and there is no reason why I shouldn't be able to learn basic conversational ...

... Naval Hospital. She gave Terence and I a tour of the unit which was spanking brand new, very clean, 15 beds with gorgeous ocean views (I wish I were making this up). We sat and chit-chatted about logistics, work culture, etc. It was so nice to finally meet the wonderful person I had been emailing over the past few and I left DYING to get back to work. After a successful hospital trip, Terence and I finally went off base for the Blue Seal ice cream that I had been promised.

... with my first Japanese toilet. It was so next-level. This bathroom-toilet experience (and I mean experience) was super fance-fance. The toilet itself had about 20 something buttons that all enabled different functions from bidet streams to music to enhance your toileting experience. I pressed nary one of these buttons. I was on a mission. After throwing on a little lipgloss, I pressed on to baggage claim where I grabbed my gigantic suitcases and walked out to ...
