... to get some tempura as well, as I hadn't had any yet. My main course was a chewy noodle soup with bear meat. Or that's at least what they said it was. It cost a staggering 3100 yen and the dish as a whole underwhelming. The meat didn't taste exotic at all, and it was somewhat tough. The tempura was better, came with rice, and was 1300 yen. We find a small noodle restaurant where we enjoy a ...

Unfortunately we only had my Japan Travel guide map of town which didn't have a whole lot on it and a general understanding of our hostel's location. I took us on a walk around Lake Kawaguchi in hunt of the hostel. Since we were at a higher altitude the weather was a bit ...

... like a mole maybe? So after a relaxing time in Ito I wanted to head towards Mt Fuji to maybe catch a glimpse of this elusive peak, apparently you could see its snow covered peak from areas around Ito but every time I looked or went to a viewpoint it was shrouded it cloud, so after realising that even though it looked close on the map and straight across the country it was to mean either going back to Tokyo and across or two trains and a bus, either way ...
