      ... carriages regularly and doesn't charge like British Rail! We reckoned on there being about 1600 seats on these trains and they are every half hour or so between Tokyo and Kyoto and they are busy. I'm sure the stats are amazing.       ... there are days it can be seen from Tokyo! But I wasn't that lucky.

      After crossing the lake, we took a gondola up the mountain, stopping near an area of sulfur springs. Of course, it was a bit smelly. This area is famous for black eggs, which are eggs that have been boiled in the hot springs. The sulfur turns the shell completely black. However, the inside looks the same.
