... up some more information about the trail, I noticed that other articles suggested walking halfway to Hatajuku and reporting the same km distance that I’d read to the train station. A quick search on google maps confirmed that the first article greatly underestimated the distance back to the station. I also learned that the trail joined the regular highway in Hatajuku so effectively ended hiking and turned it into potential dangerous highway walking. I amended our ...

After reading the instructions for the bath, including no use of the baths following the consumption of alcohol, no swimming in the baths and no washing your underwear I rule out the public nakedness. However, there is plenty to see in the 5 Fuji lakes region and I was determined to have some fun. The Fuji Five Lakes region is located about 1000 m above sea level on the northern base of Mt.Fuji, with 5 likes know to be one of the best places to view Mt. Fuji and to base your climb. In the 3 ...

... our 'regional' train to Hakone. From the station it was about a half hour drive to the cable car, not unlike driving the windy roads of Mt Buffalo. Unfortunately the cable car was not running but we were happy with our day's activities. First to the shrine where the cedar trees were huge. After wandering through the main hall we were fortunate to see a traditional wedding party and then some cute little kids all decked out in traditional garb. Kaoru explained that at age 3 both ...
