... route that we were on has a different trail for descent and ascent to help relieve congestion. This made the downhill quite pleasant, getting to walk down an easy road covered with just enough loose gravel to feel soft underfoot. That is, except for the few times we had to step over deep erosion channels carved into the rubble from the rain the last few days! It was 5pm back at the trailhead; we’d made the entire trip in exactly 7 hours. ...

We arrived at the top, 3,776 m height, in good time. we enjoyed a really expensive coffee and noddle soup at the one station hut near the crater.

Viewing the sunrise was amazing! Suddenly, it was all bright and and the view across all the nearby mountains was spectacular. You can get really close to the crater which was surprising for me.

... and even wifi and a post office at the top! The huts are pretty basic and organised to fit as many people in as possible. So the dormitory is essentially a room with people lying side-by-side (your "berth" is literally as wide as the sleeping bag) and about three quarters of the length of Rod, with two levels on each side! 8 km walk from walk Magemo to Tsumago.

The guide book and the tourist information centre told me that it would take 3hours to walk it.
However I only had 2, as I got up way to late to actually do this walk. What can I say i did it in 1 1/2 hours :)

Rock'n Roll!!!! found the coolest little coffee shop in Tsumago.

... t know: I got literally an entire suid, just the eyes taken out. I felt a little helpless but in the end I managed to make it eatable and actually it was quite good!
Finally we went back to the hostel to take our luggage and headed towards the station, where I went to search for the last god (shame on me, I searched for its location in the internet). After I found and took a photo of it I was satisfied and we could go to the station to take the train to our next destination: Kyoto.
