When I had booked the hotel online I saw lots of reviews with words like "fantastic views" and "great service". So I booked it. No brainer, right? When we were driving up the driveway I noticed that the sign for my hotel also said "romantic resort". I immediately ...

The speed train was fast, quiet, spacious seats (on a standard ticket) and left on time. ... of the mountain. Far earlier than planned we set off for Hakone and had some lunch before going up the Hakone sky gondola to the Owakudani Valley. Here we went for a walk up to where the geothermal activity was taking place so we could see the sulphur clouds hard boiling eggs and turning them black. It reminded me a lot of Rotorua in New Zealand. We descended back down the mountain on the coach ready to get on our pirate boat across Lake Ashi. From here you ...

      Travelling is fun.

A travel blog entry by russellgibson on Sep 12, 2014

The holiday so far has been filled with so much fun and enjoyment, each day comes with new experiences. Travelling is amazing, and its always the little things that you see that sticks in my mind. The Japanese seem to be very clean people, wait staff cleaning tables, wearing hospital masks to assumedly filter the air they breathe, hand sanitizer is freely available in most shops, hotel lobbies. However, for the majority of rest rooms, there is ...
