    ... Bridge and saw a fisherman with a huge long rod. The fish wasn't terribly large, probably about 20 cm or 8 inches. So we were pretty lucky. If we had gone directly to the Shrine, we wouldn't have seen this.

    We ended up at the Eikokuji Temple and had a quick look around before backtracking to look for the Aoi-Aso Shrine. It was next door to a school. They were having a sports carnival with the kids doing sumo ...

    ... that the local dish is hutto...we thought about hot things on that moment so we went to the restaurant to try it!!! wow you wont believe it.the place was huge with many low japanese style tables on tatami rags the hutto is a thick flat noodle miso stew with a lot of sweet potatos, pumpkin, potatoes, pees and mushrooms. they serve it in iron hot pot. it was cold outside but the hutto warmed it was so good!!

    Hi Everyone, Man has it been crazy week. I attended the Rotary Kyushu District Conference in Nobeoka, Japan. The schedule hasn't been to hectic even though we leave at 8:00 am and return to our host families between 6 pm and midnight. Mostly its been been a good mix of sightseeing and vocational tours.
