Thousands of 'Daks' made up the first post war airlines all over the world and few in to the 1960s and even the early 70s in some places.

Breakfast over we headed back up the Joshua Tree Forest Parkway with JB now the subject of various cactus jokes, too poor to be repeated here. ... not sure if this was Kentons little joke, but we did point out we were from Scotland and got a big round of applause. The safety briefing advised lots of water and sunblock as well as eye and ear protection. There was also a warning about rattlesnakes and scorpions! I Now have to be a little careful as I do not want to offend our hosts. As a child I remember the National Anthem being played at big public events in the U.K. This died out at all except ...

... asking us how we'd voted in the Independence Referendum (Scotland had voted to see if it wanted independence from the U.K. the month before 55.3% No 44.7% Yes, our party were 3 NO 1 Yes) At this point Kenton Tucker who I'd been e mailing and sending vast amounts of $s to arrived and offered me a lift up to the range in his WW2 jeep fitted with a 30 cal Browning in the front and a 50 cal in the back. Pity none of the team took a picture of me in it but that's friends for you!
