When we arrived last night, we read that Cuba was famous for the many murals painted on buildings around town and decided to walk/drive around to see them all before Day 2 on highway. Very informative and fun. Very cute small town. So glad we spent time here!
When researching places to see along Historic Route 66 I read about the Historic Wagon Wheel Motel. Reviews were good and it had been recently updated so we were pleased when we called and they had a room. It is adorable, clean and comfortable. AND it is next door to Hicks BBQ. Perfect ending to a perfect first day!

We are back in St. Clair, MO tonight, at the same hotel we stayed at our first night on this journey. We are even in the same room! Our colds are much better...we can breathe now and the coughing has quieted down. I think we'll end this trip the way we started it.

Once we got back to a nice suburban neighbourhood we breathed easy and found drewes frozen custard in Chippewa which served 'concretes' as the custard was so thick you could turn the cup upside down. By now it was nearly 4.30pm and we still had a lot of driving still to do! So we just kept on ...
