... sensitivity was something Val did not understand. Ultimately, she got sent home for hitting her host brother with a shoe. He did deserve it, and I was pretty proud of her, but CWY has a 0 tolerance policy for violence, so one day she was there, the next she was gone. Sept 19/20 - in Red Deer and wrote a 'draft' seems it has been deleted...having problems connecting with Skype this morning - just not my day for electronics!

Briefly RD hasn't changed a whole lot - this is good - lots of trees beautiful colours and wow!

It was a long drive from Swift Current to Rimbey but mom and I did take time to stop in Big Valley to tour the town, have a salad and share a Reuben sandwich and visit the local antique shop. It was nice to spend time with mom.

Cathie and Denny generously drove me to my mother's home in Rimbey. On the road, we stopped at Gull Lake, AB to visit the old Fernie land. My grandfather, George Fernie met his wife at the water well beside what became the Fernie store. Around 1947, my father Ernest Fernie met my mother, Kay Danser at that same water well at Aspen beach in Gull Lake. Today was the first time I had heard either of these stories. It is fascinating how the tales unfold.

... kluci původem z Ukrajiny. Hned od začátku si velmi dobře rozumíme. S Igorem jsem byl první týdny ledna dvakrát lyžovat. Jednou to bylo na Rabbit Hillu nedaleko Edmontonu, kam jsme se vydali o nedělním volnu, kdy bylo mínus 30 stupňů ale krásně slunečno. V takové zimě se málokomu chce ven, natož pak lyžovat, takže ski hill byl prakticky prázdný. Nicméně lyžovalo se, a my si to parádně užili. ...
