      ... something to eat then slept for 13 hours the first night!!       ... so the scene in the deep looking tar pit at the entrance with the mammoth family isn't actually correct, they didn't drown in the tar as it looks like. Incidentally, that little mammoth scene is heart breaking... just look at the poor baby! What actually happened was that on hot days the asphalt would get really sticky. It would also get camouflaged when it was covered with sticks and leaves so the animals couldn't see it. Inevitably something would walk ...
