Arrived early and got our pick of sites. We got this one right on the lake. At dusk, the family of skunks would come out to enjoy the fallen crab apples on the tree in our site. The sunsets were gorgeous! We met Puff the Purple Dragon on the beach! Loved the water tower.

Between the entertainment, occasional radio or podcasts, chatting more than we ever do otherwise, the long days of driving have mostly been quite an enjoyable marathon. That’s enough to make me weep with joy. There’s a small ditch we need to cross to get to the tent, so as long as it doesn’t rain today, we’re golden. We’re set up right next to the horses and ponies who are loving the sunshine and relatively ...

Day 1 on the road to Virgina

    ... the album.

The folks that run this place are super friendly. The husband was bringing in stuff from the garden just as I pulled in, so I was rewarded with some garden fresh cucumbers, green and sweet peppers, and 1/2 dozen fresh eggs from the chickens ranging around the park. It is really quiet here and I am looking forward to a good nights sleep and a ride tomorrow.
