... Our best buys were our shot glasses, we can now have choc shots in style rather than the paper coffee cups. Half way round we kept hearing this loud disturbing alarm going off intermittently. Andy discovered it was coming from his pocket & from his phone. The government were warning us of a flood alert in the area, not one but half a dozen times or so. Happy with our bargain buys and they pleased by our custom, we set back to the hotel with a crack of thunder, it had got ...

... and paperwork for Levi's car ready to hand over and sort out what's needed. Andy's next mission for the day was our Geo-cache no. 2 along Route 66 trail geeeeeeeek. It was right outside the petrol station opposite the hotel. Such fun stalking through a field of busy hives of biting midges in the glorious sun and heat of a humid day. We walked around by the entrance and much to Andy's delight he found a metal magnetic tin attached under the info board. He opened it up and there it was, a piece of paper in it that people had signed to say they found it. With such glee he signed our names & date onto it and put it back ...

... outside playing in the garden. Levi was nowhere to be found, because he was in bed having a nap. I went in to look at Jasper sleeping, but he had just woken up - so a cuddle was required immediately. He needed a change of clothes & nappy, which I was more than happy to help with. He was so cute chattering away at me the whole time. He then got a little grizzly, needing some milk. Another couple arrived and it was hard keeping up with all the different conversations ...

St. Louis to Girard / Springfield

... with the monster trucks and a car which had an enormous engine on top of the bonnet. It was great seeing all the classics; thunderbirds, Cadillacs, chevvy's, along with the meaty mustangs and dodges, and old time bugsy Malone type cars, so many to mention. It felt awesome to see them all together like this and considering we too are doing the Route 66 run from Springfield to LA. It was about 8.30pm by now, so it was getting late for the little ones. No one had eaten ...
