... I-70 followed the Colorado RIver as we wound our way through the Rockies. The variety in shapes and colors and landscapes was breathtaking.

We stopped at many locations that day, including graves of those early pioneers who had died.  Some of the places had intriguing names like Windless hill and Ash hollow, and at each place we marvelled at the tenacity of those early immigrants and at the same rime, felt a deep sorrow for the Indians.

 

It had been a long day and by the time we reached a small town called Bridgeport we decided to stop at the local RV park.

Day 28 Today we traveled north of Denver and visited an Anhauser Busch brewery. WE were able to see the hitch horses in their 12' X 12' stalls. These animals are really pampered. Sterling smells like sanitation. In fact, most of NE Colorado and W Nebraska smells like sanitation. Like there's an overpopulated hog farm and no one cleans up there. ... to do to get moving. He had some trouble with not keeping the gas when he was shifting or trying to add the brake while he was putting in the clutch. Eventually he got over these things. His shifting was still very rough though and didn't have the clutch-accelerator balance yet. But we were at least moving and I was able to rest a bit while. Good morning everyone, We have just had our breakfast at Grandmother Max's near Interstate 80 just outside of Grand Island, Nebraska. Then I sewed velcro around the edge of the screens and glued the other part of the velcro around the windows making them easy to attach and remove and they worked really well and with the two ceiling vents I called my van the flow through tea bag. It made the 90 degree plus days and nights bearable without being bothered by insects. 133.2 miles for the day, average daily expenses down to $7.52 with about $60 left.
