Hello Everyone,
We're getting ready to go to Cuba, and setting up this blog is part of it. We fly to Havana on the 8th, and we intend to update the blog at regular intervals. I think we're making our escape just in time... the weather's starting to turn the wrong way...
By the way, for any thieves out there who may be cruising this site, we have major security at the house, plus a full-time housesitter, so forget about it!...
Cheers,
D&T
Reconnecting with an old friend recently, I was delighted to be invited to her wedding. We were once best friends but drifted apart over time when we moved to different cities. It was such a priveledge to witness the wedding and celebrate with the happy newlyweds and their families afterwards.
Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada lolly... to empty our our wallets to pay. They didn't get a tip. On the way back, Keith spotted Lake Ontario, so we had to make a detour to go and see it. That we did. We drove through Newcastle and then finally in Grafton we found a nice pebbly spot. Keith skipped some rocks and I went back in the car, it was cold. By the time we got home it must've been midnight. Another successful weekend roadtrip.
Grafton, Ontario, Canada starlagurlLeft aligned photo tag: Starting to Plan our trip! So Exciting. We will be travelling to Amora on the 2nd of March via London [where we hear we will have a hectic transfer with lots of time on our hands arriving at 9 AM London time and leaving at 3:30 to arrive on the 3rd of March in Lisbon] Whew! I'm already tired. Good thing we have several days to rest up before our roadtrip to France!
Fenelon Falls, Ontario, Canada hollingers... before 8 am on a Sunday and I was playing Wii with my daughter late into the night on Saturday. And here is the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, friendly neighbourhood gym. Smiling staff (this is Buffy), typical lockers.
Peterborough, Ontario, Canada rdarcym... the rain cleared up as the day went on. In Niagara we organised to take two tours. One on this night which would take us to the Canadian side and allow us to see the falls by night, and a second on Friday morning to explore the American Falls. We had a few hours this afternoon so drove towards Lockport, a town on the Erie Canal at which there were Historic Locks. On the way we stopped at a couple of wineries in this area. The first was ordinary, but the second, Arrowhead ...
Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada mrsmac... on a sunny summer day.
"Drove back to town this morning
with workin' on my mind
I thought I might be quittin'
thought of leavin' it behind.
Went back to bed this morning
and as I'm pulling down the blind
the sky was dull
and hypothetical
and falling one cloud at a time...
It was in Bobcaygeon
where I saw the constellations
reveal themselves
one star at a time..."
ok so when the newspaper describes the snow fall outside as "one of the greatest storms to hit the GTA (greater toronto area) in (well i cant remember how long), despite being 150km NE of Toronto in Peterborough, it's still kinda worrying to the kiwi who never sees more than two days of snow a year. So, when I arrived at the di Priscos house on Friday evening I thought ...
Peterborough, Ontario, Canada kat6490... Sarah. I was getting a Domestic FLight to Sydney and then flying to LA. I thought this would be cool cause they get to sit with you the whole time. AS it turned out it had been a big emotional build up to this point and I had found my self a little teary eyed as I waited for my delayed flight. I was happy and sad and pretty excited to be finally leaving. After arriving in Sydney I had a delayed flight flying to LA which ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 3468... this trip. The main route into the north is the Alaska Highway (also known as the Alcan Highway) that runs from Dawson Creek, BC to Fairbanks, Alaska.
