Defuniak Springs is close to Pensacola. I rode US 331 south to US 98 West through Miramar Beach, Destin and Fort Walton Beach to Pensacola. It was a beautiful cool morning but US 98 is not on the beach. I stopped in at Pensacola Harley Davidson for a coffee and phone call break around 10am. Staying at Martin Lake Resort which is a definite stretch! It is mobile home park not an rv park, with old fifth wheels and campers that people call home. There is a nice lake and a pool. We drove down along the gulf and stopped to take pictures of the carved trees damaged during Katrina. Absolutely beautiful! Had dinner at BBQ joint that had wonderful reviews but we didn't like it as much. However the owner was so friendly it made up for it. Leave tomorrow for ...
