        Why is it that no matter how much pre-trip preparation you try to accomplish, the last few hours before departure are always hectic?         ... therefore it is as natural as it can be for public tours go through rooms with different formations I haven't seen before like crystalline fins & 5ft long soda straws & a huge geode

        This is a world class cavern famous for a butterfly crystalline formation but some idiot broke the top part of the wing off.

        We left Houston with freshly washed laundry. We needed to get propane since we'd run out and found it on the first gas stop. The drive was uneventful and we happily arrived at the Caverns of Sonora. We camped in our same spot but approached it from a different angle this time. We were hoping to not have to use dolly to get out.
