Well, I'm told the rainy season has started again. It begins in May and rains for 6 months. My response to that news was that I never knew the rain had stopped. However, there is a difference. It was raining only at night for the past couple of nights. Now it has rained all night and into the day, we lost power in the night (not water yet) and it is raining loud enough that you have to raise your voice to talk to the person standing next to you. In the night, we heard sleet hitting the windows, and when we woke up, it started to snow. We had pretty much packed up the motorhome last night, so we got on the road early, only to drive for 2-3 hours through frequent white-out conditions, and as much as 5 inches of snow all around us! It WAS pretty on the trees, though, since it was wet enough to stick to the branches.

... was overcast/rainy in Boulder/Denver, but beautiful and sunny on our hike above the clouds. The summit was awesome, as was the wind up there...probably a steady 40 knots, with an air temp around forty. Thank goodness for the sun. After the hike, we returned to Mark/Bettina's and had a 2 hour power nap before dinner in town at a nice French bistro ...

A bag that towers over the head making you top heavy, that hurts your shoulder and hips to carry, and that taking on and off requires a squat thrust and a power lift. ... exploring the boroughs - Brooklyn's tree-lined Park Slope, Astoria's European melting pot, and Manhattan's Times Square movie theatre, where we experienced our last American movie-going experience (we give "Wedding Crashers" our highest New York rating - 5 cheap plastic Empire State Building key chains!!). Halfway through the movie, the giddy, anxious, stomach-dropping reality really hits us - tomorrow we are off to London!!

... and challenge us, except now our friends and families come in handier than our quick-dry underwear (hence the title of this travelogue). We've had some time to appreciate what an incredible experience it was to take a year-long honeymoon and reflect back on how much we saw and did over the course of last year.
