All the shape balloons were crazy-fun, and the sight of about 100 balloons floating in the evening skies was amazing! But the real highlight was the night-glow, where all the pilots fire their propane burners at once, which glow through ...
... and reconstructed brick by brick. The bridge now connects Havasu Island to the rest of the city. On the island there is a very nice park lined with sandy beaches along the channel with walkways circling the area.

... evening. On the menu was hot dogs and burgers, with tortillas for starters. Pretty tasty. After a long drive awe had a few drinks, no fire though just a barbecue with glowing coals. Now I've done my fair share of camping, this is the warmest night I have ever experienced. Literally didn't even need to get into our £3 sleeping bags! Haha. (I was freaking out they were not gunna be warm enough). Head down for a good nights rest, as we had a big day ahead of us... the Grand Canyon ...
... but no sign of any that day. Even the giant tortoise in its enclosure was not seeing visitors that day. Anti-social!
Our original neighbours here, John & Wendy from Revelstoke, BC, left here to dry camp (no services) in the desert outside town.
