Super 8 Motel - Lake City

Had a lovely evening last night at Staffs restaurant in Fort Walton Beach, fresh fish and couple of beers and some wine. Might be doubling up on this, sorry must be tired!!

Anyway we left Fort Walton this morning in cooler weather, about 75, and had a quick look at beautiful Destin Beach but just then it started raining, jackets on for about 15 minutes and then it stopped.

Done about 240 miles before really heavy rain and wind nearly pushed us off the road. Then ...

Sitting at Newberry's Backyard BBQ. Just went to a clearly illigal riverfront water park. It was fun but the chances of someone dying there were higher then most places. It was full of high school kids drinking beer from their trunks and then swinging on ropes (sometimes in groups of three) from the tops of tree houses into the river. It was wild.

We arrived at Fort Wilderness just around 1pm. We all moved in to the RV and got our beds made up. Grandma presented the kids with goodie bags with some Disney essentials (autograph papers, fat pens (so the characters can hold them), and pins to trade).

We had dinner reservations at Fulton's Crab House in Downtown Disney, so we headed to the Settlement ...

... to the diner at the motel for breakfast to get a $3 special of hash browns, bacon, eggs, and toast. There is something to be said about cheap food that makes it all better that you don't even know where the heck you are. And this was good.

... Old Black Joe" , "Suwannee River", "Camptown Races" are just a few of his hundreds of published works!! There is a museum to honor and preserve his legacy and pianos. There is also a tall bell tower that plays a selection of his tunes every hour during the day and a snipit every half hour. Quite amazing to hear "Old Black Joe" in bells!!! Since my car is front wheel drive they switched out a back tire, put the larger tire in the back, and the correct sized on in the front. When we arrived and headed for our camp site the deer were all around. So we set up, started a fire, got out the chairs, pop a beer and enjoyed our last night of our trip. Well Folks we finally made it to a Bar-B-Que place. We had to wait till we finished to see if you we could give it a stamp of approval. As you can see by the picture we loved it!!! This stop officially starts the healthy kick....booo. Nothing like some delicious BBQ!!!
