Stayed on I 74 to Peoria and finally got off after a Culver's break. What a relief. It wasn't too bad since the traffic was light, but highways are not interesting on a motorcycle and it was hot! After exiting the interstate we headed for the corn fields and small towns of middle America. Yes, after 8 hours of highway biking even cornfields are …

Saw some sweet thunderstorms in the distance as I drove barren 2-lane roads the final three hours into Iowa. I crossed the Mississippi River and arrived in dad's hometown of Keokuk around 1:30 AM. There was no toilet paper in my room when I checked in but thankfully, I observed this before things got Curb Your Enthusiasm awkward. Tired. Wondering …

Today we went to a "museum". This museum was very cool one could climb around in all sorts of mazes that you could run and have fun in. After 4 more hours of driving we got to Jacob's geodes. We got a hammer and chisel and went to town an those rocks. Bum is hurting less surprisingly. Day 2 ...

... campsite in the area and visit the graveyard and little town.
We are camped on Crab Orc***********al Wildlife Preserve beside Crab Orchard Lake.

I spent the afternoon fishing (not even a bite) and watching Meatball swim and charge all over the lake front. A nice glass of vino and steak on the the outdoor grill made for a nice day!

We stayed at Wakonda Lake Campground in MO on the 29th. Turns out that it is on the flood plains of the Mississippi. VERY wet ...
