After getting home early hours of the morning it was a sleepy kind of morning. 3.30am I ended up crawling in so it was makeup off and bed! I woke up randomly at half 7 and started to talk to people back home as it was a normal time. Then went back to sleep till 10! Saturday 03 – Monday 05 October

We'd meant to mention in the previous blog, that many of our stops have been in towns along the railway network. As the long, long trains pass through the town, the horns are sounded – hence the last thing we hear at night is the train and also the first thing in the morning!

... bison were mooing occasionally, just like cows. After looking at the bison we drive to a nearby mini golf course. The golf holes were absolutely huge! Also several of the holes were multi level. You would start at the top level and if you got the ball into the side holes the ball would move down to the middle level, but if you got it into the middle hole the ball would go straight to the bottom level. ... Red's which has an excellent pint 8.5 and while the ambience isn't bad - No Food???? The real bummer for me was that when I walked in I thought they had a fire - it was so smokey in there that I doubt I could have eaten in there. Smoking laws in Texas are by city and ft worth allows smoking. As a non-smoker I've gotten used to Wisconsin being no smoking state wide but I was never in favor of the government telling businesses what they can do in their establishment. ...

... also fit a familiar mold of many of our friends along our travels - they love animals - and have 3 dogs and 2 cats, all rescues. Mary and I were particularly enamored with Jill, a smaller dog of unknown origin, who was blind and yet negotiated 2 flights of stairs with no problem.
