... downtown. That was scary! We passed through Burbank and Pasadena and finally were out of the city on Hwy. 10 heading towards Palm Springs. The road was flat and we were in the desert. We saw ALOT of wind turbines. Doug says this is exactly where they should be. You couldn't raise a fat groundhog here!! The land that is not irrigated is either sandy, gravelly or stony. ... from the Colorado. We could see down to Palm Springs and up to a large sea there.
In Joshua Tree NP we walkedto a few of the rocky outcrops. It was up to 38C (100F) but because of the low humidity it really didn't seem that bad. Once we got back into LA I really noticed the difference though. As we neared the edge of LA there was a massive area of wind turbines as well as a stretch of solar panels.
