... Tramway. This was within the San Jacinto State Park. On the five mile drive to the Tramway the elevation was 1000 feet. We entered the park and were told which car park to use. We were then picked up by a trolley and taken to the tram. It ascended 986 feet. The floor of the tram rotated, apparently there are only three which do this in the world, South Africa which Liz has already been on, Switzerland and here in California. The two trams were bought from Switzerland in 2000. ...

... was calling to tell me that he had just taken the door knob off the bathroom and got in and Zoey had somehow locked herself in the bathroom. After that was resolved I went shower. It was rather difficult since the room was freezing and we didn't see any way to turn a heater on. We were happy we only had a king bed and could sleep in the same bed in our sleeping bags for warmth.

We drove through most of the park, and some awesome landscapes, and hiked up a mountain in the centre of the park. It was a struggle in the midday heat to get up there, hot and sticky, but we made it. And we were rewarded by some great views.
