I did not have the opportunity to blog again before I left Indianapolis; I did get to attend one last session in the morning, It was the Episteme Laureate Presentation. It was given by Dr. Mary Naylor who was the recipient of the Joan K Stout Research Grant. Dr. Taylor is from the University of Pennsylvania and she has been a leader in the field of nursing by developing and implementing the Transitional Care Model primarily for older adults ...

... Life. It was very interesting. I thought about multiple applications and I thought about its usefulness when we're unable to obtain speciality clinical rotations, e.g., pediatrics or OB.
At 5 pm, there were regional meetings (we will be in Region 12 once we are chartered) for everyone. Here I was warmly welcomed by the other 34 chapters in our region and I got to brag about our ...

... was reminded of how much people have given of themselves to advance the profession of nursing. I returned from the Headquarter's visit renewed in my purpose to get our Honor Society Chartered! And then.....well I went on to several receptions one of which included a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit.....that and a glass of wine ended my day!

Hello, again! Unfortunately, there will be no more pictures.....at the Tribute Award Luncheon today my camera got wet when someone accidently spilled water at the table. I suspect I will need to purchase a new camera....a little time will tell.....I think the camera's brain was "fried".

Anyway, onto the day.....While there were presentations throughout most of the afternoon, the morning and the noontime luncheon were all about awards. Nursing ...

... and it has been highly successful there. A Career Advisor Program (linking experts with young nurses for career development) was initiated. STTI also took on the initiatve of "Always a Nurse"-a program for retired nurses that gives them a role within the organization.Additionally, several new corporate grants were obtained to foster leadership and the Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy was established.

... checking people in was Jessica Waldorf, a STTI staff member and our "guide" as the Honor Society gets ready to file the Charter Applicaton. I took a picture of Jessica so that we can relate to her a little more personally through the coming months. We plan to meet after registration is over and have a brief discussion about our Chartering process.

Hello, everyone! The plane left Dulles airport 30 minutes late and I arrived in Indianapolis after dark (it was also raining and windy).The trip to the hotel was approximately 30 minutes and I had a late dinner while I reviewed the Delegate packet. ... but by this time we were really behind on our intended schedule so we mounted up and rode off. Before leaving St Louis we stopped by Wal-Mart to refill some windshield cleaner bottles and get some things to take care of my new tat. After that we were on the road. One of our fuel breaks brought us to a store with some interesting novelty signs that we thought were funny so we took some pictures. 200 miles later we stopped at Cracker Barrel to get something to eat and ...
