Didn't wake til 8:30 this morning, late for us so far this holiday, still we must have needed it after the long day we had yesterday.

Today is all about Big Bend National Park so we buy muffins for breakfast, check out and head on our way. A couple of hours and about 100 miles later we arrive at Maverick Junction, the entrance station …

Woke around 7 am on Wednesday, I booked a hotel at Days Inn in Fort Stockton, TX, which was about 300 miles from Las Cruces. There are no AirBnB's options along I-10, between New Mexico and Austin. I was ripped off and forced to pay $111.00 bucks to stay at the Days Inn. There were several other hotels in Fort Stockton. I spent a half hour reading reviews on ...

We did 730 miles today. Tomorrow morning, we run the last 90 miles to Marfa. We'll set up at the RV park there...and start to explore. More tomorrow!

... really wanted to talk to him. Nice young man, a little wild and crazy based on some stories he told.
After lunch we headed for "The Dome". Found this online at Trevor is a song writer/guitarist living off the grid in the middle of nowhere by Terlingua, Texas and Big Ben National Park. He built the dome himself from a design by an 80 year old neighbor, it's a work in progress. ...

      The World's Second Largest Roadrunner

Driving through Fort Stockton, TX we learned that the world's formerly largest statue of a roadrunner was right on Main Street. We arrived.

      He’s not that big.
      Not worth the detour.

But I did climb him and take a picture. Maybe that was worth the five minutes.

There really is nothing in West Texas.
