After spending two days in Chicago we left early Friday morning for our journey to Yellowstone.
We rode 377 miles today and it was a hard day. It was raining and slow going as we left Chicago. Traffic cleared after about 15 miles outside the city. As we rode west on I-90 we opted to try US-20. It was a great road. Lots of great scereny and no …

... invited me and two other guys in line over to her house across the street to use her shower. (We confirmed that she was really sure ... and she noted that she and her husband were more than happy to let us use it.) Their house was a beautiful old house. The husband was an engineer at the nearby ethanol plant, and they had 2 friendly kids and 2 BIG dogs .... and got to enjoy a wonderful warm shower. Friendly Iowans at their finest!
