Take the tram or hike to the top. A train circle the mountain which is mostly surrounded by man-made lakes with opportunity for boating. In addition to grassy areas and walking trails, the park offers a museum for indoor respite.
... snack bar were not opened. It seems that most things don't open until noon. We walked around up there for a bit, then made our way back down. We could have walked, but since Alma and I had on sandals, we thought better of that, so we rode the tram back down. We then visited the museum, watched the movies and then, because it was after 2pm and the ride to Jonesboro is another hour, we decided to forgo that trip and visit the plantation in this park. ... wouldn't want to do it in the Georgia Summers - but the day we chose was perfect. The next day was really windy and much colder so we took the train into Atlanta and spent the day at the largest Aquarium in the World. We didn't see too much of the City, it's really large, but the part we did see was open spaces and very well kept. The Aquarium was as good as advertised and there was even a Dolphin performance.
