... all using the name Amana and a second word. South Amana, East Amana, West Amana, North Amana, High Amana, and Middle Amana. The residents in the early days received housing, medical care, meals, schooling, etc.Jobs were assigned but no one received a wage.

... weather forecast is not too good as storms are predicted along our path.

Our destination is Amana Colonies in Amana, IA. This is an historic German town that we stopped briefly on our trip to Alaska in 2012. The town closes up at 5:00 pm so we decided to come back and stay a few nights to check it out. More tomorrow on our venture into town.

... And another thing. No internet. My iPad needs it. So the ride. Went looking for breakfast, everyone sleeps late here. I was in Deadwood before 0700 and they weren't open. The slot machines were. Then I rode up to Mt. Rushmore and took some pictures and got my pin. There are some pretty hills here. Then I had to go to see Chief Crazy Horse. It was worth the trip.
