... of the day we've just been hanging around and starting to get some stuff together for our departure tomorrow.

The most productive I've been all day is I made a pair of earrings. I've been wanting to try to make some jewelry and so since we really aren't super busy, thought I'd give it a try. They don't look too bad, so I'll probably try some more.

The rest of the day, just lazying about. If ...

... forthcoming and enjoyed my interest. They and the Amish had been the one group but had split, with the Mennonites becoming more in tune with modern day but keeping their religion. They dress as we do but more modestly and plainer. We briefly stopped at Eldon where the house from the famous picture, American Gothic is located. We stayed at Lake Wapello State Park on a lake and had drinks with 2 nice couples. A large group of Amish arrived (there are the strict Amish ...

Anyway it was been nice to be invited into someone else's circle. Since we travel mostly by ourselves, we don't get to socialize with a lot of different people at campgrounds. And since we "glamp" instead of camp, we don't have a lot of campfires.

... Next day, off to visit just 2 of the villages. These were Germans escaping
religious persecution. They came in 4 ships with more following in later
years. They called the non- Germans, the "English". We had lunch at a German restaurant - beautiful place and food. We visited the micro brewery, the weaving mill, beautiful furniture and a good museum. Too much to see and do again, so back we went to the nice RV park and did the washing.
