The kids stayed very busy throughout the afternoon. Morgan sat with the adults and listened to stories. Garrett bee-bopped from group to group, carrying on conversations and performing his one-man comedy act. Jackson was engaged in all kinds of games and play with some of the younger kids.
... was bright blue with big puffy clouds. The temperature perfect. We actually had to grab a jacket ... very unusual for Missouri in July. And no bugs! The tables were set up under a giant elm tree. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. We visited with Martha and Carl's family ... kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Uncle Jack Burrows, my Dad's uncle, provided a bunch of fishing poles and the kids and many adults spent nearly two hours reeling in one fish after another. ...
... up hoping to see the river, but it wasn't visible, so we went walking hoping to see it, but never did. Time, Time, Time, I was not focused on the important things yet. Gone three days and not really into the rhythm of the trip.
