    We left Cumberland , MD at 6 a.m., 55 degrees, brisk! We drove through the following states: Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, and spent the night in Champaign, Illinois. 86 degrees when we stopped for the night. Miles traveled today 580.6. TOTAL MILES - 861.6
    Our bathroom door handle had a piece break inside the mechanism causing the door to lock shut and we had to disassemble to get in and out. Eddie forgot ...

    ... and the stone, flags, and flowers that mark the crash site.

    Although the memorial has been constructed for a while, a new visitor center is due to open later this year. They are installing a walkway from the visitor center, through a grove of newly planted trees, and over a pedestrian bridge to the site. We hope to go back again in the future.

    ... to the wall of names carved in Marble. The Marble wall as well as the new Visitors Center is constructed along the flight path to the point of impact. At that point of rest, there is a large sandstone boulder that is original. There are 40 groves of trees being reintroduced into this large meadow. This was an area that had been strip mined.
