... One of their hobbies is wine making so we got to see their great cellar and also sample the wine which was very nice. We didn't get to bed quite so early that night but it was great.
Thursday was lovely and sunny for the last day of our circle trip. We had two more ferry trips and three drives to get home. The scenery was just so beautiful. Hopefully I'll be able to get some photos sorted out and on the computer soon. We were rather ...
... spa - lovely. We fought to fit everything back in the cases. Naturally we brought too much. Next time we will leave half of it at home!!! During the week I also managed to fit in scrapbooking, line dancing, champagne cocktail tasting, naturalist talks (Rob came to them too) and of course, we did lots of eating. The food was wonderful as usual on a cruise.
Our cruise lifestyle is over and we are back on terra firma in a lovely home on a ...
... BC was fabulous! We had a wonderful dinner with their friends Cathryn (a BC Sculptor - http://www.jenkinssculptor.com/) and Don (who was celebrating his 48th birthday). We had a little more to drink than normal (no driving - we stayed the night) and many laughs, dancing and a great time had by all. Steve caught Cathy doing the "running man" dance and at one point the two were stuck together dancing in sync...too much fun! Don provided a seafood feast and Connie and ...
Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada colleen.killorn... to get in touch with those contacts, we managed to get in touch with a few places and we made an appointment to see one in Port Coquitlam (it is not far from Port Moody so we thought we would at least have a look) We appreciated that Katie had given us her place but it was clearly an illegal suite. On Friday we had arrived back at Katie's and discovered that there was no light working in the bedroom area. The only furniture she has (she is in her early 20's) is a ...
Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada colleen.killorn... from the city centre in the lower mainland (the suburbs is the best way to compare if you want to). The houses are surrounded by trees and green belts run up into the hills. The local bear (not Jim but a real live bear!!!) has not yet made an appearance but I have seen black squirrels playing outside and have made friends with the two resident cats (I am their newest slave I think). So far we have been manically ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 2monkeys... heavy luggage. I finally get into the cab where mom, dad, and the dogs are waiting to leave. Darla is curled up contently on the heated massage chair and Lincoln is trying to figure out how he can also get on it. The drive back was uneventful and I was pretty tired so I pretty much went straight to bed, though not until I showed dad why my laptop is so much better than his. By the way, he's not convinced.
Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada travelingdiva... boys, overly stern-looking leather dudes, shirtless dykes on bikes, proud nudists, and every other mainstream and not-so-mainstream manifestation of the gay and lesbian community. I somehow got caught up in a desperate quest to acquire the Mardi Gras beads some of the floats were throwing to the crowd and was elated when one of our curbside neighbors caught some beads and handed them to me. After the parade, we headed to Celebrities, a dance club near the hostel ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada csimpson... times due to it being central to Kelona, Whistler and Vancouver Island. But unfortunately of the 5 nights I stayed here I only got 2 whole days to explore, of which I spent most of this time on the Internet and trying to get my travel buddy fixed. I only have a few photos from here, but they show why I loved the place. Rob
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada robsworldLeft Nelson 8:20AM on January 29th after the last show of "Proof" and a long and sleepless night. Arrived in Vancouver to it's trademark rain, but awoke to sunshine and a beautiful, mild day. A gorgeous day and a beautiful way to start off a trip. Flying out of Victoria on Thursday for Amsterdam.
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada adriana20Click here to views the pictures of Vancouver and Whistler Friday - Day 01 - Welcome to Vancouver Leading up to the departure date, I was very worried about this leg of the trip as the weather network was forecasting 100% probability of rain in Vancouver and Whistler for each day there. However, leading up to the arrival in Vancouver small signs of hope appeared on the horizon as the P.O.P. went from 100 to 80 to ...
