Today's my last day of work - and this afternoon is Cedarlane's Halloween Celebration, so I'm all gussied up as Gypsy Rose (not the stripper - the gypsy!!). I figure a Gypsy is a good costume for me, as I'm so excited about getting back on the road again tomorrow!
Cedar Point Amusement Park is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. It is the land of fun and thrills with over 75 rides and attractions. Cedar Point offers the best in roller coaster thrills.
There's lots for kids also. In fact, a section of the park called "four kids' areas" offers 30 rides and attractions for "just their size". These shots were taken especially for our nieces and nephews.
On September 10, 1813, Commodore Oliver Hazaard Perry defeated and captured a British squandron of warships at the Battle of Lake Erie. The battle, fought during the War of 1812, secured control of Lake Erie for the United States and enabled General William Harrison to conduct a successful invasion of Western Upper Canada.
The memorial commemorates Perry's defeat but more importantly it celebrates the lasting peace between the United States and Canada.
... there. It was worth it. We stopped by the Cleveland Brown stadium next door to their gift shop but it was closed - it was 5pm - cool looking stadium. We decided to put Steak n Shake into our GPS and sure enough there was one near by and we were off for our 2nd visit - once again yummy! We headed back to Jett and the camper - he was great and excited to see us! We just hung out - played on Facebook and called it a night!
Sandusky, Ohio, United States dornan... very light traffic, and due to the limited scenery only made necessary stops for fuel and bathroom breaks. Ella was in heaven sitting on "daddy's" lap taking in the view and spotting some cows along the way. Sam spent his day curled up on Steph's lap soaking up the sun.
After 12 hours of travel with little to ...
Just wanted to upload some more pictures of our life and times around Cedarlane RV Park. We're both working LOTS of hours (~40/week apiece), which is more than we had expected...but it will certainly help the finances, which is why we're doing what we're doing!
I'm going to have a go at blogging this roadtrip Harry and I are making. I'll be doing most of the typing cos he's sleeping at the moment.
We left DC in terrible weather but cleared the Maryland commuter traffic before it got too bad. Not much to report from the drive - mostly I could see trees, little white farms with red barns and rusty silos. further into industrial Pennsylvania, not far from Pittsburgh, we passed an ...
Our days off are Sunday and Monday, so we've taken advantage of these two pre-Memorial Day off days to explore the area nearby.
As I said in the last entry - this is very much a water-activity based area, which means lots of marinas, bridges, islands, and - Marblehead Lighthouse ...
It's very quiet around the RV Park right now - except for the symphony of bird songs that starts around 4:30 each morning, and seems to play on a continuous loop all day long!
Before Memorial Day Weekend and the crowds of tourists arrived, we used one of our days off to check out the area.
There are a lot of really interesting things in this area - it's very much a marine/fishing/island lifestyle area - reminds me a bit of the Cape Cod ...
... way out by Utica for a reading from GUITAR ARMY & book-signing at 5:00 pm. A sandwich next door has to suffice for the afternoon snack. There's a great crowd and we have a good reading. A local author, John Jeffire, hands me a copy of his book set in Detroit in the '60s called Motown Burning, which I'm just about to read at this writing. My final assignment is also the most anticipated, because I'll get to meet the fellas from the Motor City Blues Scholars at our ...
