Broken AC, staff helped out.

We had a broken AC unit in our room and it was over 100 outside. The staff was friendly about finding us another room. The place was under renovation and was being painted so we got a deal and I barely smelled the paint fumes. So all in all blah bluh blah bluh. Sorry, that happens every once in a while since I stayed there.

Not only am I going to a completely foreign place, I am also going into a very foreign college atmosphere.  The last three years I have spent my time at a ...

We made some Kerig coffee and sat for a bit to catch up some more before we realized what time it was. Later than we were comfortable with. So we grabbed our bags, Lauri did a last minute check, Lisa locked up the house and we headed ...

... purposes, but the Sumner has a fair sized permanent collection on
display.

The campus has numerous statues of a funny-looking little
bird that resembles a cross between crow and Woody Woodpecker. It’s called a
Jayhawk. Kansas is the Sunflower State, and the state bird is the Western
Meadowlark. So what’s a Jayhawk?

Lawrence’s attractive downtown was bustling the Saturday
afternoon I was there. The ...

... of comfort in ones surrounding. Over the course of our trip the two of us have grown to find home in many places. Whether it was a semi-permanent accommodation that resembles the continuity of a traditional definition of "home" or if it was sitting in a pub enjoying a pint and conversation with a complete stranger feeling as though we were taking to an old friend, we have felt at home all around the world.
