... hotel the first day we went past a selection of shops near our complex. We walked there and checked out a few things. They had a 24/7 huge pharmacy and Starbucks. ... places work, planning is essential! So we grabbed a map, pinpointed the locations of the main attractions, picked a route and marched off to our first destination: Africa! And just like professional planners (no one would guess it was our first day!) we went straight to the fast pass booths and got our ticket for our time slot, cha-ching! ... home. We were all hungry and had no food in so we stopped at Papa John's Pizza for a takeout on the wy home and while it was cooking Matt popped into Publix next door for some doughnuts.
Duncan was asleep and we just popped him straight to bed when we got back at about 8.15 The rest of us had some pizza and doughnuts and then we were all off to bed by 9pm too. It was a long long (but enjoyable) day
... Again a simulated ride where we got to design a
fast car and compete with other riders, at the end of the race the results were posted on screen for all to see, we then sent the whole video of our race back home by email
for us to enjoy when we return. It was excellent fun.
We also made time for some character greetings, specifically Mickey, Pluto and Minnie Mouse and got really nice close up photos of the kids.

The first attraction we saw was the Twister one. It was a bit of a letdown...they usher you into a dark room to watch a video starring Helen Hunt and Bill Pullman explaining how scary twisters are, and then they take you into a room where they've got a small town replica, and they put on a twister show, with rain, lightning, and (the best part), a cow flying by.
