We arrived in Carthage earlier than we needed to which was nice because that meant we actually had time for lunch before heading out with the sponsor. It got hot again today, so at the risk of people peeking in our windows (which happens more often than I could have ever imagined), we opened the shades, opened the windows and let the breeze in.

... came around a blind corner a little distracted and saw that I was heading for a 6-8" round rock. I hit it, the front suspension held with only a one inch twitch in the handle bars. After leaving Nauvoo, we drove a little ways to Carthage, Illinois to tour Carthage Jail. Carthage Jail is where Joseph Smith, the LDS prophet, was martyred. It was sad to be in that same room. It was kind of cool though, because I had to be in a reenactment of the martyrdom of Joseph Smith a couple weeks later.It was a really interesting experience, besides the screaming babies that were in our tour.

After touring the jail, we got back in the car, and headed back to Chicago.
