7/2 Day 11 We resumed sightseeing today after a CVS stop for script renewals. This was a real pleasure due to their national computer system. On our 2010 trip scripts were a real pain as we were doing mailed scripts and had to get everything mailed to a general delivery in a future town. Then had to go back and get everything mailed back home after the trip.

Somehow with ...

I had the whole trout with dill and Peg had the crawfish ettouffe, a traditional Cajun dish. Delicious. ...

... Peg had fried gizzards. She claimed they were good – must be an acquired taste. As I read this back to her she whined, “I grew up eating gizzards”. We then went back to the campground and hooked on to the camper that we had left ready to go except for getting Tex out and turning off the air conditioner we left on for him.

Shortly after leaving Adele we picked up one of the scenic drives identified in the atlas. It was route 44 a nice two lane back ...

... ball of string' we could make a side trip and see it.

The first neat thing we encountered was a rest area on Route 80. They had commissioned an architect to celebrate Iowa’s literacy. Throughout the area they had representative kid’s blocks with letters (2 foot cubes of concrete) they had what appeared to be book spines formed into the plaster borders of the building. There was a plaque explaining the representation.

Along the way ...
