Got up at 7am and were on the road before 8am to Jasper. We stopped just up the road at Herbert Lake for a quick breakfast then were back on the Parkway. We stopped at Crowfoot Glacier, then Bow Glacier, Bow Lake and Peyto Lake where we had to walk up a short steep path to a really nice lookout. We carried on along the Parkway another 90km to get to the main Glacier at the Columbian Icefield. They had signs up for nearly every 10 years ...

... surrounded by the most majestic mountains. On the drive up to Jasper, the road ran alongside the Sunwapta River. It was that beautiful green glacial ice color shining in the bright sunshine. A train runs right next to the main street and my guess is train travel is one of the ways that people come and go from this small town year around. They had a lovely train depot in this beautiful town.

We have left the Banff-Jasper National ...
