    On the way to Hinton saw these colorful cabins. Got to our hotel after 8pm. A long day (7.5 hours driving and almost 400 miles) but we did a lot.

    Tomorrow we get to the start of the Alaskan Highway.

    ... was all new to us! The areas we drove through were very much agricultural. The beginning of highway 2 South was filled with lots of hay fields which ran through several small towns. In Grand Prairie we turned off to the Bighorn Highway which is 40 South. Bighorn Highway In this area there is a ton of logging going on with huge logging trucks flying by you and the whole time we were hoping they didn't slide in to our lane as the signs ...

    ... to see about playing tennis or squash as the weather wasn't very nice and it looked like it was ready to set in. We decided to play another time as the van needs and oil changed and we have to drive to the next town to get that done and seen as it was raining why not get going..     ... out fantastic. (Smores are up for cooking in about 20 minutes). Lauren cooked up some rice and corn for dinner, and I grilled the chicken I had marinating for the last 2 days. Dinner was great!

    The drive was beautiful - definitely on the scale of Alaska, and even more grand in some areas. We saw lots of mountain goats, an elk, and even a ram.
