... coffee, we went to the shop to have my bike inspected. The service mechanic was very nice; he inspected it right away, showed us how to inspect it ourselves, and said there was nothing wrong with the bike -- Pike's Peak was just too much for it with the triike kit and luggage. We then took off for Kansas via I-70, stopping for the night at Super 8 in Goodland, KS.

... in family activities. The Broadmoor has a fantastic outdoor heated pool and hot tub right on the lake. They also have two water slides that the kids are very excited to play on.
On top of that we are spending a few days to relax there and enjoy the 4th of July holiday activities at the resort. Everyone is excited to have a few days away from the car.
Even better, our drive today is only 2.5 hours!
We got to Colorado ...

Bit further on we drove by Fort Riley, there was hundreds of Black Hawk and Choctaw helicopters on the airfield. Very impressive.
Also saw a sign for the Custer Museum.
We have decided to stay at Goodland, Kansas, tonight.
About an hour after we arrive, a storm hits. Some hail and wind, but again not too bad.
